Denver, CO – Alto Gallery is pleased to present “It Came From the Drawing Board” a multi-media show featuring the Retro Sci-Fi works of 6 artists. The show will run from Friday July 7th – Saturday August 12th 2017 with an opening reception on First Friday July 7th from 5pm to 11pm.
Five comic artists will be featured in the show: Cody Kuehl, Dan Crosier, G. Kaaiue, J. James McFarland and Rio Burton presenting original pieces that explore the concept of “the inspiration of the drawing board.” Also featured will be nine retro-futuristic electronic interactive sculptures by Charles Russell.
The overreaching theme of the show will be the journey from concept to reality with a focus of retro sci-fi designs. The Mr. Russell’s art is made from a combination of recycled vintage materials and modern electronics and is meant to be touched and interacted with. The experiences are unique to the user with vintage knobs, switches, cameras, speakers and lights creating a different interaction for each user. The gallery will also feature a unique installation featuring vintage devices from the 1910’s – 1960’s and over 500 recycled vacuum tubes to add to the experience.
“It Came From the Drawing Board” will run through August 12th 2017. The artist’s will be present at the opening reception Friday, July 7th from 5p.m. – 11pm Gallery hours are Thursday 4pm – Saturday 7pm. For additional information please contact Alto Gallery, 720-569-7463
